Hello DEMO.
September 18, 2009 by Lisa Oshima | Consulting, EventsI’m hitting the road on Monday for the DEMOfall 09 conference in San Diego, CA.
This will be the 25th DEMO conference that Chris Shipley, has produced in 13 years, but it’ll be the first one I’m attending. I’ve heard great things about previous DEMO conferences, and because this one is the 25th, and Shipley’s last before she passes the torch to Matt Marshall, it will include a “Lifetime Achievement Awards” ceremony honoring the following 15 well known DEMO alumni:
- Shai Agassi, Founder, TopTier Software, currently Founder and CEO, Better Place
- Marc Benioff, Chairman and CEO, salesforce.com
- Donna Dubinsky, Founder, CEO & Board Chair, Numenta
- Jeff Hawkins, Founder, Numenta
- Subrah Iyar, Founder and former CEO, WebEx
- Keng Lim, Founder, Chairman and CEO, NextLabs
- Kevin Lynch, Chief Technology Officer, Senior Vice President, Experience & Technology Organization, Adobe Systems
- Andy Rubin, Co-founder, Danger Inc., currently Vice President, Engineering, Google
- Mike Cassidy, Co-founder, Xfire, currently Co-founder & CEO, Ruba.com
- Diane Greene, Co-founder, VMware
- Colin Angle, Chairman, CEO and Co-founder, iRobot
- Helen Greiner, Co-founder, iRobot, currently Founder, The Droid Works
- Teresa Meng, Founder, Atheros Communications, currently Reid Weaver Dennis Professor of Electrical Engineering at Stanford University
- Ben Trott, Founder & CTO, Six Apart
- Mena Trott, Founder & President, Six Apart
The conference participants who are launching and pre-launching their products was announced earlier today, and it looks like a good group. I’m looking forward to meeting some great people and technology. I’ll be keeping my eyes open for interesting companies and emerging trends, and I’ll be tweeting and blogging on the more interesting companies I see at the show, so stay tuned!
