Lisa,

To add to the "Eradication of Privacy" and "Opaque Marketing", there is the issue of what a large network like Yahoo! will do with their expansive information users via Upcoming.com, Flickr, Y!360, Answers, Y! Personals et cetera and the potential backlash from it.

Yahoo is in the position to build a stronger user/demo profile of its users than even Google. I've written about this before in my blog (http://www.emergence-media.com/2006/07/social-m...), and the question is will users appreciate the possibility of super-precise targeted marketing (e.g. gay (personal), web 2.0 professional (upcoming, jobs) and vacationed in Paris (Y! Travel)) will there be a backlash against companies holding so much information?

[this is good]
Good post. Especially the point on privacy. Many things were always available, after a trip to the court house. Friction-free access changes things up though.

I think the idea of "persistence of voice" is going to take a while to figure out online too. Do you maintain copyright of your words and can you force things like wayback machines to take down their cache after you know longer maintain a post yourself? Imagine if every dumb thing you ever said was indexed and available as a .wav file on the web.
